About Green Peak

Green Peak launched in 2026 with a simple mission: help energy storage leaders accelerate their business.

Storage is complicated. Green Peak cuts through the complexity with clear, actionable analysis and guidance, at a fraction of the cost of larger consulting firms.

Example engagements include:

  • Building a market-tested battery energy storage total cost of ownership model for an independent power producer considering expanding into energy storage

  • Leading technical diligence for a private equity client on a potential acquisition of a battery management system company

  • Advising a startup Founder addressing energy storage at data centers ahead of investor roadshow: developing business model, solidifying intros, customer research including quantifying value and price sensitivity, and pitch coaching

Meet the Founder

Battery storage is one of the most technically and commercially complex sectors in energy, and Ray Hohenstein has spent a decade identifying exactly where the value gets made and where it gets left on the table. As founder of Green Peak Advisory, he and his team bring that fluency to your toughest problems: procurement and contracting, revenue risk assessment, performance recovery on operating assets, product roadmapping, M&A diligence, and regulatory strategy.

Before launching Green Peak, Ray built and led Fluence's systems-level product management organization, and advised tech and electric utility clients as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. He holds an M.B.A. from Duke and a B.A. from Harvard.

Green Peak clients also benefit from Ray’s network of trusted collaborators, covering a range of clean energy topics.

Every Green Peak engagement is outcome-oriented; no open ended retainers. And we hold ourselves to rigorous standards of protecting our clients from conflicts of interest.
